The following is a general reference to the types of projects that do or do not need filing with the Department of Real Estate. This information is not intended to be all-inclusive and you should contact one of our DRE Coordinators to discuss the filing needs for your particular project.
Projects that do require filing
Condominiums consisting of five or more units
Planned Developments consisting of five or more units
Any subdivision of five or more units located in an unincorporated area
Condominium Conversions
Projects that do not require filing
Any subdivision of less than five lots or units
Standard subdivisions of any number of lots that do not have a homeowners association and are located within city limits
Commercial or Industrial Subdivisions
Subdivisions developed and offered by a public agency
